When you picture a visit to wine country, you may be imagining that you need to get on a plane or drive to another state. However, did you know that you can visit wine country in Arizona? Sonoita was the first American Viticultural Area (AVA) in the state and is home to beautiful high-desert rolling hills and scenic mountain views. Visiting our Sonoita vineyard and winery could be just the weekend getaway you are looking for.
Here are just a few of the reasons to visit wine country:
Find Your New Favorite Wine
When you visit our winery, you can try out the many different types of wine we offer. This includes reds, whites, rosés, and even flavored dessert wines and Sangrias. Visiting our tasting room gives you the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try wines that you might not normally. We will tailor your tasting to fit your palate so that even if you are experimenting with new varietals, you are still sampling wines that match your preferences. Our tasting room is a judgment-free zone and we love helping our visitors find their new favorites.
See What Goes Into Making Local Wine
Making wine is truly a labor of love. The average bottle of wine contains approximately 600 grapes. Visiting the vineyard where our wine is grown lets you get a glimpse into the process we use to grow and make our local Spanish wines. You can also ask any questions you may have. We are always happy to discuss winemaking with our visitors. Learning more about the wines you love can help you appreciate them even more.
While you can always enjoy a nice glass of wine at home, a change of scenery can greatly improve the experience. Many of us get used to seeing the same sights every day and it can do wonders for your mood to take in some new and beautiful landscapes. Our Sonoita winery has gorgeous views and a lovely ambiance. During your visit to Arizona’s original wine country, you can engage all of your senses and enjoy a relaxing and memorable time.
